Tell me about your Homecoming weekend! If you didn't participate in the Homecoming festivities, what did you do? Share pics!

On Friday night I was performing with the band at the football game. It was 8th grader night so we had all of the 8th graders and we taught them how to march and play. It was great to see some of the upcoming talent in the band. The game was very fun and we ended up beating Blue Valley South West in a blowout. On Saturday I drove out to Anes Iowa and watched the Baylor football game against Iowa State. It was very fun and they won the game. On Sunday I had a swim meet in the morning and I ended up winning all of my events including the 100 freestyle and the 50, 100, and 200 backstroke. After that I went home and watched football. Unfortunately the Chiefs didn't play but they have a game tonight (Monday) and we are going for the largest decibel level at a stadium.

How was your weekend? Did you do anything exciting? Share photos!

I had a pretty good weekend this weekend. It started on Friday afternoon when I went to the Apple store to pick up the new I-Phone 6. It is by far the best phone I have ever had. On Saturday my day started with a dress rehearsal of the 3rd annual GSA talent show. I was performing with the drumline. Then I had a 4 hour band rehearsal which was just tons of fun. After that I had the actual talent show, the drumline was in the top three finishers. on Sunday I just sat around and watched football. The Chiefs got a win so I was excited.

Now that you are several weeks in to this class and have coded one (super small) website, what do you think? What are your thoughts on web design? Is it what you thought it would be? Is it better? Worse? What's your favorite part? What's your least favorite part? Explain.

I am happy with how this class has gone so far. It has been challenging enough to be fun and interesting but not so much so that it causes stress. For me web design is very interesting and a new view on websites. Before I thought of it as though it was made in Word but in fact it is a whole lot more than that. My favorite part is seeing everything come together in a finished project. My least favorite part is learning how to use it but it is a necessity.

What is the importance of deadlines? How do high school deadlines reflect or simulate "real world" experience? Give an example of when you met or or didn't meet a deadline that was important.

While sometimes annoying, deadlines are important. Their main purpose is to get the job done and they do just that. When a teacher gives you a deadline it forces you to get whatever it is that you're doing, done. This simulates the real world because in the real world you will get deadlines and it is important that you make those deadlines. I have had experiences where I had a deadline and I got it done. It helped prepare me for the real world.

Reflect on this quote. Give an example of a time in your life that this might have been the case.

This quote can be used in multiple scenarios and situations. When you don't prepare for something in school, for example a test, you will perform poorly and you will not be up to your standard. Also if you are giving a speech at school or in the workplace, you will not know what to say and you will end up rambling about something unrelated because you didn't prepare yourself and you don't know what to say. However, if  you do prepare you will be ready for what ever life throws at you and you won't have to worry about not being prepared.

What did you do this weekend? Share pictures if you have them!

On Friday I went to the football game and I am in the band so I performed the pregame and halftime show. It was a great game and we beat Blue Valley West by a lot. On Saturday morning I took the ACT. I think I did pretty well for it being my first time. On Sunday I pretty much just sat in my basement watching football. Unfortunately the Chiefs lost but they played well so I wasn't too disappointed.

Below is one of my favorite quotes that I found on Pinterest. Think read and think about what this says and then blog about it. What does this quote mean to you? Elaborate! Feel free to give an example of tell a story.

This is a very good quote and is also very accurate. To me this is as important because I keep myself pretty busy. between band, swimming, and homework, I don't have much down time. However, for others who aren't in as many activities or clubs, being bored could happen quite often and this is a fun interesting way to look at it. People who have seen this quote will now have no excuses when they are bored.

How do you express your creativity? Explain

I express my creativity mostly through music. I play the drums and whenever I do, it is showing what I can create through rhythms and songs. When I create a new drum beat or a new solo or really almost anything it is showing how my imagination created original ideas. Another way I express my creativity is through my school work and what I put on the assignment.
